Do I want this or what. I love it so hard it is unbelievable. Am tempted to buy a random canvas tote and sew my own, because I could totally do it, and not give Marc Jacobs an extra $1395 in his pocket. QUESTIONS. DILEMMAS. EXCEPT MY SEWING KIT IS IN SWEDEN. (EXCUSES.)

I want to go out, except nothing is open, because for once I don’t feel constrained by my bicycle. Except I have a ton of readings to do, so I should probably do them. As for planning holidays, things have a way of working themselves out in the end (I believe), so I should calm the fuck down and be less annoyed with myself and the world. Meanwhile, I have been sitting at home watching shows, spamming Top Chef like there’s no tomorrow, starting on Hell’s Kitchen (and the 45546 Japanese dramas/HK movies on my hard drive). I just got back from a weekend in Luxembourg, where the five-hour train ride was one of the better journeys, despite having to wake up at 6 in the morning.

It was not bad, not bad at all. We stumbled, head first yet again, into a random cafe which turned out to be a gem. Score! I love wandering around aimlessly and finding things I wouldn’t have known were there. Going to Berlin in a few days! Excited.

London was wonderful, even though I arrived with a heavy heart on Wednesday night following a pretty bad weekend. It was Guy Fawkes Day and I had loads of fun watching the fireworks coming up from random houses on the bus from Stansted into downtown London. I spent a lot of money shopping and spent half a day in Topshop alone (no kidding) and picked up something like 20 tops and/or dresses and trying them on endlessly before narrowing it down to just two; saving my money for the Boxing Day sales! I was so tempted to buy so many things because Topshop stuff is lovely and I miss it so much now that I don’t get to shop there regularly anymore. Had to keep restraining myself from getting things (“No, it’s winter now… and you’ll only get to wear that six months later when you get back,” and then a voice goes: “But it’s pretty! And you might not be able to find it again! And it’s summer all year round back home anyway! Cost-per-wear!”) including this grey blazer which cost 60 pounds (I didn’t!).

My J brand jeans came! I like them a lot and they fit pretty well. Unfortunately I bought the one with the leg opening slightly too wide… so I will have to alter them to narrow it down.

RZ is on her way to Copenhagen now! So excited. Soon it will be my turn.

    18- 21 May.

So, finally, here is Osaka. Most of what they say about Osaka is totally true. It’s a merchant town, and it’s filled with people who love food, love being happy, love being loud and funny and living life. It’s kind of like being Hokkien on crack. Being Japanese, they’re naturally polite, and really really willing to help. They’re the sort of people that, when you are standing alone on the train platform surrounded by your luggage, an elderly lady will totter over to you asking, 大丈夫か? (Are you all right?). At this point most of what you can say merely consists of ああ、はい (Ah, yes) which is really rude now that I think about it. Yet the same elderly lady, when getting onto the train, will fight you tooth and nail to get in and give you a not-so-friendly push if you dawdle too long at the entrance. Osaka people are always hurrying everywhere; not in the same way as Tokyo or the big cities, where everyone needs to look like they have something very important to do. Here it is pure unadulterated rush.

We spent four days in Osaka, and they were a good four days. We visited temples and parks, castles, got lost, did lots of shopping, checked out Kennedy’s wildly expensive t-shirts, gawked at more wildly expensive merchandise, ate and walked, and ate, and ate non-stop.

I like these. A lot. I feel like they could make me 5 inches taller without the pain. Some people probably think they are ugly. Anybody still in the UK willing to bring them home for me please tell me XD

Times like these I’m very happy that J is like 6 feet tall so I can wear all the heels I want.

things i think i need but will probably never get, and signs that i should be sleeping/studying:

    - a full-length mirror to hang in my room
    - a pair of kickass sunglasses that do not belong to my mother (preferably these in any of these colours, except maybe the blue. omg these belong to the realm of Most Randomly Kick-Ass and Expensive Sunglasses, which i would totally buy if it was… half the price)
    - a pair of dark wash/charcoal coloured jeans
    - a trip to england to watch dire straits in glastonbury (oh)
    - self-discipline

i am very annoyed that my dress is not here even though i bought it last sunday and the girl said she’d mail it first thing on monday morning. i emailed her on thursday again, and she said i’d get it by monday latest, but i get home and there’s still no package. i shall wait one more day, and if nothing comes, i will go and scold her.

maybe it’s my fault because i never opt for registered mail. i feel stupid and even more annoyed. bahhh.

in other news, we watched breaking and entering tonight at cathay after a long day in school which ended up in me sleeping across 3 chairs. it was a good movie, even though it cemented the fact that i somehow don’t really like jude law.

i’d forgotten how good a subway sandwich can taste! (:

finally, a lazy saturday morning. wanted to get up for nice lazy breakfast but ended up sleeping in, seeing as how i’ve been sleep deprived to the extent that karen ordered me to sleep more when i went in for individual conference on tuesday. and i’m proud to say that for the 5th memo in a row, i’ve managed not to do work on a saturday! now to take a well-deserved break after ploughing through contract essays and crim presentations and lawr memos… before moots start up! whee.

to echo cheryl, studying always brings more shopping even though we’re not physically able to go out. i swear the internet makes people really lazy and spend more money than necessary. i’ve ordered two dresses during this period and i just saw another one that i like but am not going to spend more money (!!!). ahhhh.

law bash was okay. the drinks were good, but there seemed to be very little people even though butterfactory was kinda small. might go back there someday though… left at 1+ because we’re old like that and were completely zonked out by the time we hit the bed. so if you’re wondering why j’s been wearing the same clothes for awhile in a row, it’s a sure sign he didn’t go home last night!

the whiteboard in the meeting rooms in school is totally filled with our whinings and crappy drawings. including stuff like “clarisse stole my toilet” and “i like big butts” and “responsibility to mother: check. responsibility to friend: check. responsibility to girlfriend: HMM” (: (: lovely happy days hoho.
